Mom Laura tells your holiday in Magie, Seychelles, with her daughter Selina, 2 years. Here is his diary, with strengths and weaknesses of this beautiful tropical island.
“The more appropriate title for this diary should be:” Seychelles: either you love them or hate them “, but I will not be judging, you just get carried away by curiosity to visit them and realize the dream of a life bearing a pinch of adaptability and objectivity. “
I started planning our trip last summer, but not entirely sure I can go: you know, these islands are a half a bit ‘expensive and far enough, and with a little girl of 22 months to the first long flight are always a thousand fears.
After studying all the details, itineraries, consulted various forums, read catalogs and having monitored the price of the aircraft for months, ever mentioned that to go down, we decide: we are part !!! I was no longer in the skin!
From Milan Malpensa to Magie with Emirates March 5 (night flight, h 21:20) and return on March 22 (08:35 h day flight). Classic direct flights to Dubai: we chose the quickest route, that is, with only two and a half hours of call, both outward and return (in the airport of Dubai, there are strollers available free).
We have not brought the stroller, but we had a backpack hiking for the child, that choice proved to be ideal. If you can not take it: you can not carry on buses, on the beach for me is useless and the children are sleeping comfortably on the sand, the beaches being very shady.
Itinerary: 7 nights Magie, Praslin 7 nights, last 2 nights of Magie.
You say, and La Digue?!? I do not remember, I screwed up in full, an organizer for prissy travel like me it is a defeat. We just risen the desire in the day, reaching by ferry in 15 minutes from Praslin.
Emirates: company flawless, excellent service even in Economy and supercordiale staff, not to mention the flight, superlative, as told here by Francesca> Emirates for Children: approved
My daughter, Selina, 2 years old in April, began to show a little ‘feel unwell shortly after takeoff in the sense that, being a child very energetic and very social, has decided not to sleep, not eating and wanting make great hostess from, probably, since we do not let them sit for a moment. They were very kind and they pampered from start to finish, with gadgets, chocolate, fruit juice and biscuits. Finally at 2:30 am it collapsed. And so will the return. Tosta and I say, good start!
I mea culpa for not bringing the harmless drops of melatonin
Weather: in March we found a great time! Only on the third day it rained, but we were burned by the sun, so it was a blessing.
Our diary Journey in Seychelles with baby
Exhausted, we arrived in Magie on time. Classical bureaucracy at the airport, classic moisture that assails you after flying to eleven hours of an igloo at high altitude, we got on our supercaro taxi booked from Italy by the lady who runs the “La Residence” at Anse la Mouche, in Magie.
Beautiful views, friendly, well kept outside, in the middle of lush vegetation that characterizes this island and which by the way I miss her to death. To be honest, I would not go back because of poor cleaning of bathroom and kitchen, but do not dwell on the details.
After settling in the house, we tried to go in front of the beach, but unfortunately Anse la Mouche is not bathing, because extreme high tide or low tide extreme, they do come to the surface plastic, glass, shoes and clothes, making a smelly lagoon. Nevertheless, the view at sunset is beautiful!
Seychelles holiday with baby-sea view
We returned home, we chewed something and 21 seyshellesi all to bed, and so will be for the entire holiday, complete with alarm superpresto. Selina has adapted very well to the jet lag.
The property is located a few minutes walk from the bus stop. Our initial idea was to move by public transportation, a little ‘for fear of driving on the left, a little’ because I do not want to rent the car on vacation. So for the first few days we used the bus (5 rupees brimmed, children free). Unfortunately, the media are never on time, we lost so much time and above all, for my taste, are really dangerous because they run too, even though we are on board pregnant women, elderly and children. Once Selina was also felt bad, so we can not do more felt to continue.
The last two days we have therefore opted for the rental car: 45,00 € per day and have it also brought directly to the apartment. In hindsight the would rent from day one!
Seychelles holiday with baby-beach
The beaches that we chose to visit are definitely the most beaten tourist, but being perhaps March low season, we never found so many people.
The most beautiful for us (to the point that we have been back several times) were Baie Lazare, Anse Intendance, Anse Takamaka in the South West, Anse Royale (the beach is a place dear and nothing more) and Anse Aux Pins in the East.
The two preferred have been:
ANSE AUX PINS we liked in particular: we enjoy the sun the last two days, surreal at low tide, colorful and dazzling, well shaded for the morning and afternoon naps, with warmer water on the planet believe from strinarsi. At 10 minutes from the airport and animated by the locals at the weekend. (Here we stayed the last two nights because of its proximity).
BAIE LAZARE, long beach and beautiful, with shallow water but with ripples and reef now to shore. And ‘it divided into two, what we believed to be Anse Soleil I realized instead to return to Italy to be an extension of Baie Lazare, where it remains the Kempinski Resort: scream, water and divine dream landscape, we got it with a trek walk about 40 minutes up and down between not having the car, complete with a child on his shoulders!
We were in the north, by choice, so I can not evaluate this area. Disheartened even from the streets and from the heat. More we could do. Do not I give you detailed info on the beaches because there’s already lots of networking.
Seychelles holiday with baby: practical information
You will find supermarkets managed by Indians everywhere, with unknown brands of food, but provided a bit ‘of everything. Anse Royale is the most plentiful of the south and I think it’s called Superfresh, has white sign with blue writing: here you will find Italian products and best fruit, a bit ‘more expensive.
The fruits and vegetables are sold in the street a bit ‘everywhere.
I for security I had brought from Italy for the baby soups and risottos in envelope, pesto, pasta, parmesan cheese, crackers and succhini to squeeze, snacks bought in herbal medicine dried fruit, very energetic.
At Baie Lazare I found toys for the beach cute, but I’ve seen more or less everywhere.
Hospital at Anse Royale, felt after three days for excessive prickly heat of the child, excellent and clean. The pharmacy of Anse Royale is stocked (except unfortunately the famous goccine for the return trip by plane).
Post office and police outside the hospital, next to the entrance to get to Anse Royale.
The locals did not seem very friendly, at the beginning you are riveltati suspicious and grumpy, but they love children so much. For this I have forgiven
Seychelles holiday with baby-MAREDA pack:
spray for mosquitoes and mostly sand-flies, known to Praslin alas, on the Cote d’Or, now I have the scars (they massacred, except the child, fortunately);
a torch at night is a very dark;
shoes for corals, at least for children, but also for adults not go wrong;
all medicines appropriate, can be a useful cortisone cream for prickly heat, consigliatami hospital (then the problem is solved by only the last days, because they accustomed to the climate and warm). Also enzymes, all ready before leaving, not because of the food, etc. As for the change of temperature. Here is a complete list prepared by Milly> Drugs travel cot
sun protection: hat, sunscreen, after sun glasses and sunglasses;
diapers, I found them in the end the measure of my daughter, 5, beginning not found them, perhaps because spannolinano soon rightly;
sarongs and terry towels (not dry out ever!);
K-way for children, during a thunderstorm;

many pennies, Seychelles alas these are very expensive (but to withdraw, there are ATMs and exchange counters everywhere).
Dispassionate advice: drink, drink and drink again. The children have to drink a lot. Even in flight, very important!
What they have left the Seychelles?
The thing that I will carry forever in my heart is that Selina, within two weeks, he learned a lot of new words and phrases and is back from vacation changed, another child, a little girl, happy and relaxed.
My daughter is a rock, is special, we have undergone a long, long walks, bus, boat, car, but it has held up great! Our puppies are full of resources and we have to go along with them, support them and to learn not to be afraid to travel, not to be discouraged by the distance, from another culture, the climate, the food different, from different music, the way you interact different etc. etc.
If we are afraid, or we feed doubts, they perceive it; we interact with them, consider them, listen to them, so creatures will become able to gain respect, to accept the other, not to discriminate, love to travel with caution and head on your shoulders, will stay away from danger, they will learn to distinguish between good and bad, will be People can change this world of constant and frantic movement.
The Human Revolution in a single individual will help to change the destiny of a nation and will finally lead to a change in the destiny of all mankind.
