Referring to Singapore, apart from the magnificent shopping malls, many tourists are overwhelmed by the beauty of this beautiful island, so calm and fresh with a lot of open spaces. I had a great trip to this wonderful island in August last summer. In Singapore, you can easily find many means of transportation to get to entertainment venues, either by bus or by the MRT system which is very modern and extremely convenient. I have outlined some suggestions for famous attractions as the Gardens By The Bay, Sentosa, neighborhood bar and eatery Geylang, NR MacRitchie, Botanic Garden, Jurong Bird Park …
As I have mentioned before, when my wife and I travel, we love to find new places rather than just the famous and popular attractions, you can ask the locals about the places you should visit because they are the ones who know best, so you can fully enjoy this kind of travelling. Singapore is too bustling and modern and an ancient peaceful place is hard to find. Through the recommendation of a friend, we learned about Pulau Ubin – a peaceful island in the middle of the ocean.
Pulau Ubin is located in the north-east coast of Singapore, surrounded by granite quarries, one of the top 3 largest islands in Singapore. Here, you can see old houses, idyllic scenes of people on the island, the natural life experience, listening to birds singing, fishing, kite … in stark contrast to life uproar heat across the sea.
In order to get to Ubin island, you take the MRT to Tanah Merah Station (EW4), then take SBS bus number 2 or number 29 bus transfer station to Changi Village, followed by a boat ride from Changi Point to the island which takes 10 minutes. Fares are $ 2.50, trains run from 6am to 11 pm.
To enjoy the green space here, visitors can stroll or rent bikes to visit the whole island. In the village there are many places to rent bicycles. We each rented a bike with th price average of S $ 10-14, depending on the rental period and vehicle status.
From my first hand experience, you should choose the sports bike (bike up, horizontal ribs) to rent because we can control the severity appropriate wheel when the up and down slopes, helping you to pedal more durable and less capacity loss than. I chose a mini bike because I didn’t know any better, as we reached to an uphill I had to walked all the way.
There are many toilets and base stations so when you are tired, you can stop to relax, listening to the birds singing, taking photos … You can also organize overnight camping, fishing, kite flying , climbing, etc. …
Additionally, you should not ignore Chek Jawa natural beach, Namo Pulau Ubin’s eastern tip. This is the safe haven of the sea creatures such as crabs and echinoderms. The longer you have the opportunity to admire the lush grass beds, coral reefs and many species of colorful sea creatures. To book tickets, travelers can contact the National Park box office bared.
Pulau Ubin will be the ideal destination for those who want to enjoy the fresh natural space, simple and peaceful. Stay away from places likea bustling towns, leave modern technology aside for a few hours to enjoy an once in a life time experience, it’s worth it! Hopefully Ubin will be a beautiful experience on a trip to Singapore for all of you.
